A Little About Me
I was ordained an Interfaith Minister in 2009 from The Chaplaincy Institute, an interfaith seminary. What called me to this ministry was my belief that as a world citizen, I have an obligation to help alleviate suffering to those who are marginalized and to all of Earth’s creations.
In 2002, I completed the Spiritual Guidance Program from Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation. I accompany people who are called to deepen their spiritual life or see a spiritual connection at the heart of everything. I offer a safe space to explore life’s deep questions, spiritual or not.
Whether I am officiating at a wedding or funeral ... guest chaplain at the California State Senate … meeting one-on-one with a person for spiritual direction … marching for policy changes … leading a retreat … sitting in private meditation … standing in a grocery line, I practice cultivating a listening heart of compassion and dignity for all.
I learned over decades as a human resource professional in employee relations and diversity in large institutions that most of us have learned biases and stereotypes, but they can be unlearned. That’s why in 2008, I co-founded and serve as President of the Board of Directors for The Interfaith Peace Project, which helps shine a light on those biases as we learn to interconnect with understanding.
And I bring my ability to handle some of the most difficult conversations to every aspect of my life, seeking to evoke nonviolent communication.
